On the subject of Smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, chocolate, potato chips...Et cetera: > Both over indulgence and abstinence are Extreams. Moderation is Possible. Awareness, focus and self control CAN be achieved and maintained.
Finding others to blame for ones own weakness is quite the major sport these days. Blame the bartender, blame the tobacco company, blame the chocolatier, blame the hamburger chain, blame advertisements!! Oh!And make a joke about "New Years Resolutions" while you are at it!!! These "addictions" are said to be mirrored in the body's chemistry. We are sure that is true. But, has anyone ever found self control and moderation to be likewise mirrored? Discipline in our "D.N.A."?? We are sure that is Possible!! If all the energy/effort currently being put forth by teachers, preachers, parents, law makers and "The Media" in the name of Abstinence would be directed towards self confidence, self control and MODERATION! That would Truly be an Evolutionary Mile Stone!! YOU control your destiny, it does NOT control you! If you simply do not like smoking or alcoholic beverage,okay!!> So do not smoke or drink. But do not bully others into conforming with your preferences.
